Heat Advisory Issued Ahead Of Hot Weekend

It is going to be hot and humid this weekend.

A temperature of 97 degrees is forecasted for Saturday and 93 degrees for Sunday, with heat index values up to 100 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

In addition to the heat, high humidity is expected in the region.

A Heat Advisory has been called from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. Another might be issued for Sunday.

“Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside,” forecasters said.

Residents are advised by officials to schedule any strenuous activities in the early morning or evening when the temperature will be cooler.

Friday’s temperature is forecasted to be 84 degrees.

Temperatures will be back down to the 70s starting Monday.
