A Middletown Township fast food eatery was damaged by an electrical fire.

Fire crews were dispatched to the Wendy’s at Langhorne Square on East Lincoln Highway around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday.
Crews arrived to find an electrical issue with burning inside the walls and ceiling of the business, Middletown Township Fire Marshal Don Harris said.
Firefighters used a tower truck and a ladder to get on the roof the make sure the fire was extinguished. They used hooks to open up the walls and roof.

PECO crews arrived and cut service to the building while firefighters worked.
The fire was contained to the back of the restaurant.

The cause was under investigation, but it appeared to have started in the area of electrical panels, Harris said.
The Wendy’s was cleared of staff and customers and the doors were opened to clear the smoke.
No injuries were reported.

In addition to the Middletown Township Department of Fire and Emergency Services, the Fairless Hills, Langhorne-Middletown, Parkland, Penndel, Third District, and William Penn fire company. The Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad also responded.
