The incident happened early Monday afternoon at the Turnpike bridge in the eastbound lanes over the Neshaminy Creek. A tractor-trailer crashed and began leaking fuel.

The Turnpike eastbound was closed as efforts were made to stop the spill and cleanup, according to Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission spokesperson Kathleen Walter.

Traffic on the eastbound lanes was diverted off at the Bensalem Township interchange, Walter said.

Around 3:15 p.m., the eastbound lanes were reopened and traffic started moving again.
