The damage from a tractor-trailer dump truck that struck an overpass bridge along Route 1 remained visible Wednesday, but state officials said there was no structure damage.

The damage stems from Tuesday’s midday crash when the truck’s trailer slammed into the Pine Street (Route 413) overpass bridge in Middletown Township near the Langhorne Borough and Langhorne Manor Borough border.
Robyn Briggs, a regional spokesperson for PennDOT, told LevittownNow.com crews assessed the bridge and determined “there is not structural damage that is compromising the structure.”
On Pine Street, headed toward Langhorne Manor Borough, PennDOT blocked the shoulder of the lane on Wednesday.

From Pine Street, there was no visible damage. From below on Route 1, the concrete structure suffered visible damage from the strike.
There were no injuries in the crash, but Route 1 was closed for several hours.
The closed highway caused a traffic nightmare on surrounding roads in Langhorne Borough, Langhorne Manor Borough, Penndel Borough, and Middletown Township.
