Officers were called last Friday at 10:58 p.m. for a report of a disorderly person who was “highly intoxicated” in the 500 block of Route 13 in Bristol Borough, according to court papers.
One of the owners of Odd Logic Brewing Company along Route 13 told an arriving officer that a man – identified as James William Strassler, 24, of Bristol Borough – had been on the roof of a neighboring business ripping shingles off the roof before jumping onto the brewery’s property, police said.
In the rear of the brewery, Strassler had flipped some of the popular business’ tables and attempted to kick one of the owners, police said.

Strassler was located by police and found to be “rambling and completely unaware of his surroundings. Strassler was acting chaotic and completely uncooperative,” an officer wrote in court papers.
As medics were dispatched, Strassler attempted to grab an officer’s Taser and ignored orders not to touch the weapon, police said.
Strassler ended up grabbing the Taser and the officer pulled it away and deployed its probes, shocking the 24-year-old man, police said.

Strassler fell to the ground and rolled around, which led to Strassler beginning to kick and grab the officer’s equipment, police said.
The officer used the drive-stun capability on the weapon to subdue Strassler, police said.
Strassler grabbed the officer’s radio microphone and twisted it, police said.

An off-duty officer in the area saw the scuffle and assisted with taking a defiant Strassler into custody, police said.
As more borough officers arrive at the scene, he kicked one of them before finally being arrested, police said.
Strassler was preliminarily arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, disarming a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, and public drunkenness. He came before District Judge Lisa Gaier and was jailed on 10 percent of $300,000 bail.
