Officers have been investigating a reported attempted child luring that occurred in the 100 block of South Queen Anne Drive near Pennsbury High School on Friday, March 18 between 2:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

A girl reported an older man in a silver Buick LeSabre repeatedly offered her a ride before a group of boys came over, police said.

In a Thursday statement, police said they “were able locate the vehicle and speak with the involved subject. The subsequent investigation determined that it was a misunderstanding between the two, no charges are warranted, and there is no threat or danger to the community.”

The new information came to light this week after descriptions of the man and the vehicle he was driving were circulated on social media by police and news organizations, including LevittownNow.com.

Due to the nature of the incident, the information on the investigation spread quickly through the community.

Police thanked residents for their vigilance.
