What To Expect On Area Roads For Trooper Mack’s Funeral

With thousands of members of law enforcement and other mourners expected to descend upon Lower Bucks County for services for fallen Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Martin F. Mack III, locals will see the impacts on area roadways.

The events on Wednesday and Thursday will close several roads in the Levittown area.

There will be a public viewing for Mack Wednesday at Wade Funeral Home on Radcliffe Street in Bristol Borough from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A private viewing will take place from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Below is the parking advisory from Bristol Borough police:

The even numbered address side of Radcliffe Street from Walnut Street to Lincoln Avenue will be closed for parking from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday. Radcliffe Street will stay open for eastbound traffic only during this time. The odd numbered address side of Jefferson Avenue from Radcliffe Street to Pond Street will be closed for parking from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday. Traffic will stay open traveling north on Jefferson Avenue through to Pond Street. Westbound traffic on Radcliffe Street will be closed at Fillmore Street through to Walnut Street from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

On Thursday, Radcliffe Street will be closed in both directions from Walnut Street through Fillmore Street between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. On both dates and times traffic should avoid the area of Radcliffe Street and utilize Pond Street. Officers will be posted throughout the area to assist with traffic issues that may arise during these times.

Mack’s funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church on Levittown Parkway in Tullytown Borough.

The funeral procession will travel around 10 a.m. from Wade Funeral Home in Bristol Borough up Radcliffe Street to Green Lane. The procession will travel up Green Lane and turn onto Route 13 northbound to the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church on Levittown Parkway.

Levittown Parkway from Route 13 to Kenwood Drive in both directions will be closed from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., police said.

Around 12:30 p.m., the procession will leave St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and head up Levittown Parkway into Bristol Township and Falls Township. It will then continue onto Oxford Valley Road and travel through the Lincoln Highway interchange to Route 1 southbound through Falls Township, Middletown Township, and Lower Makefield Township.

The procession will travel on Route 1 southbound to Our Lady of Grace Cemetery off the highway for a private burial ceremony.

Route 1 will be closed from Oxford Valley Road to the Bensalem Township border from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

“Anyone regularly using any of these roadways during those hours, is encouraged to make arrangements for an alternate route,” Falls Township Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said.

Authorities have warned surrounding roads will be impacted by the closures on Wednesday and Thursday.

“Please be patient,” Bristol Borough police Chief Joe Moors said.

As many as 5,000 police officers from around the country are expected to attend the services for Mack.

The Bristol Borough School District and Neshaminy School District will be impacted by the services.

Mack and his family were involved in the St. Mark Catholic Church community and one of his two young children attends the school.

The funeral mass will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church because it is a larger building.

Early last Monday morning, Mack and Trooper Branden T. Sisca, 29, of Montgomery County, along with a pedestrian they were helping, were killed when an alleged drunk driver struck them along I-95 in Philadelphia.

Services for Sisca will take place Friday and Saturday in Montgomery County.
