Bucks County COVID-19 Case Numbers Steady, Hospitalizations Low

The number of COVID-19 cases in Bucks County remained relatively steady.

During last week, there were 274 new COVID-19 infections reported, a slight rise from 212 cases the week prior, according to Pennsylvania Department of Health data.

Increase or decreases, health officials have said the number of new infections is likely an under count as many at-home positive tests aren’t recorded in the official number.

There were 26 patients in Bucks County hospitals as of Tuesday with COVID-19. Of that number, two were in intensive care and zero were on ventilators.

The Bucks County Health Department didn’t release their detailed statistics on hospitalizations this week, but past weeks have regularly shown people who were unvaccinated have largely suffered the most serious cases.

A total of six COVID-19 patient deaths were reported in Bucks County hospitals last week, state data showed.

As of Tuesday, there were 91,394 people who were partially vaccinated and 390,075 people had received two doses in the county. A total of 172,116 third doses have been administered in the county, according to state data.

In Bucks County, 76.6 percent of residents have received at least one dose the COVID-19 vaccines, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data.
