Water Plant Experienced Pressure Problem Due To Power Problem

The Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority (LBCJMA) reported Monday that there was a problem with pressure in their system.

The authority posted in a message in the morning that there are “intermittent” problems with the power grid at their plant on Route 13 in Bristol Township. The power issue caused “pressure fluctuation within the distribution system.”

Residents were asked to conserve water for a short time.

Due to the issue, Bucks County Technical High School in Bristol Township dismissed students early.

Vijay Rajput, the executive director of the LBCJMA, said the power problem was with PECO equipment. The water system returned to normal operation by afternoon.

The system experienced a similar problem in February 2020.

Following Hurricane Ida in 2021, the LBCJMA experienced a boil water advisory for several days.

The LBCJMA serves roughly 23,000 customers between Bristol Township, Falls Township, Middletown and Tullytown.
