Multiple sources confirmed an ambulance belonging to the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad was taken inside the township around 10 p.m.

A Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad ambulance was dispatched to the Bristol Township Police Station on Bath Road at 9:30 p.m. for a report of a call of a syncope, which means a patient passed out and needs attention. It was not clear if the call was related to the stolen ambulance, but it was the only call for the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad to respond in Bristol Township Tuesday night, according to emergency medical sources.

A law enforcement official told LevittownNow.com the Philadelphia Police Department’s helicopter was called in to assist as officers searched for the stolen vehicle.
