Bucks County Community College will host a virtual forum in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The one-hour virtual event Thursday, January 27 at 2:30 p.m. will feature the screening of short documentary “Voting Rights: Here We Go Again.” The screening will be followed by a discussion about current efforts to change voting rules in America.

The panelists for the forum will be:
- State Senator Steve Santarsiero (10th district, Bucks County)
- Bucks County Commissioners Chairman Bob Harvie, who also chairs the Bucks County Board of Elections
- Omar Sabir, city commissioner for Philadelphia County and a advocate for voting rights and civic engagement
- Community college faculty member Bill Pezza, who teaches political science and has moderated congressional debates for nearly a dozen years
The forum will be hosted Kevin Antoine, who has a law degree. Antoine is the the community college’s associate vice president of community and government affairs and chief diversity, equity, and inclusion officer. He also is chairperson Newtown Township Human Relations Commission and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
“The 1965 Voting Rights Act was the direct result of Dr. King’s leadership and activism,” Antoine said. “In this forum, we’re going to discuss how those rights are once again being suppressed today and how we can honor Dr. King’s legacy.”
