Dr. Thomas Shaffer, the interim superintendent, confirmed to LevittownNow.com teachers calling out ill for Friday and a lack of available substitutes led to the switch to virtual learning for the day at the high school.

The district’s elementary school operated with in-person classes on Friday.

The high school is expected to reopen next Wednesday. Borough schools are closed Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Tuesday is an in-service day.
