The death of a person at a park in Falls Township was under investigation Tuesday morning.

Quaker Penn Park, which sits near Pennsbury Manor along the Delaware River, was closed by police and park security. The police activity appeared focused on the parking lot near the playground.
The call initially came out as a person with a gunshot wound at the park.
Police confirmed the person died from a gunshot wound.

“The incident is being actively investigated. It is not believed that there is any ongoing danger or threat to the community,” police Chief Nelson Whitney said.
The roughly 32-acre municipal park features sports fields, playgrounds, and a boat launch with docks.
