Encore!

For the second year in a row, the “No-Go” Fall Classic Raffle, to benefit the 21st Century Learning Centers, is on. The raffle is held again this year because of the persistence of the COVID-19 virus and its variants.

Tickets are $75 and can be purchased at the Bristol Borough Tax Office at Pond and Mulberry Streets; Great IDs by Anne at 257 Radcliffe Street; and Mignoni Jewelry at 200 Mill Street, all in Bristol Borough.

Mary Gesualdi will draw the winning tickets from a tumbler, and the event will be shown over Zoom. The Zoom link will be published later this week.

The annual classic gala is usually an in-person celebration to honor a person of the year. But, in the interest of caution, the members of the Grundy Foundation’s Academic Oversight committee decided that to again forgo an in-person gala.

The drawing will be at 7 p.m. December 7.

Last year’s gala raised $25,000 and Committee Member Amy McIlvaine said that 100 percent of the programs proceeds will go to  21st Century Program.

This annual event is biggest fundraiser of the year that benefits children (and families) in St. Mark Parochial School, and Snyder Girotti Elementary School.

In an unaudited analysis covering 2016-2019, the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) suggested Bristol Borough School District students are not far from attaining state proficiency and advanced levels.
