Dear friends,
After a hectic and unpredictable 2020 and 2021, I hope this note finds you rested, healthy, and preparing for the holiday season.

Once again, we’re supporting the United Way of Bucks County’s Holiday Gift Card Drive. The program purchases gift cards for older kids and teens throughout Bucks County. The cards are gifted to older kids and teens who may not get anything else during the season due to circumstances beyond their control.
Last year, with support from LevittownNow.com readers, the United Way of Bucks County was able to help bring holiday cheer to more than 1,800 local older kids and teens. That’s a large number and it required support from people like you.
The really great thing about this program is how simple it is. Tweens and teens whose families are not able to gift them anything this year are provided gift cards for stores and eateries they would go to, often with their friends. If they’re out with their friends, they can get a treat or buy a pair of jeans. The top-notch team at the United Way of Bucks County have worked so hard over the past few years to make sure donations are put toward getting the best value on gift cards, like using donations to buy gift cards in bulk at a discounted rate.

A surprise, even as simple as a gift card, will deliver a bit of cheer to an older kid or teen during this unpredictable time. One $35 donation can provide gift cards for one tween or teen.
Over the past eight years of supporting this worthwhile program, I’ve seen how many generous people live in the Levittown area and beyond and have stepped up to help older kids and teens. I am always amazed by the generosity of residents and local businesses.
When I first heard about the Holiday Gift Card Drive, it struck me how underserved older kids and teens were. It’s a group too old for toy drives and not old enough to fully provide for themselves.

This year, if you have the means, I ask for your support for the Holiday Gift Card Drive. This program is powered by you.

Season’s greetings!
