An aging water main and pipe in Falls Township are being replaced.

Pennsylvania American Water, which serves parts of the township, began work this week to replace the main and 1,100 feet of pipe that date back to the 1950s on Louise Drive between Mark Drive and Paul Road in the Morrisville section of the township.

The old pipe will be replaced with a new copper pipe and meter chambers, officials said.

The work that began Wednesday will run through the end of the year, with repaving to be completed in spring 2022. Crews will be working weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., causing traffic restrictions in the area.

“During construction, customers might experience temporary service interruptions, discolored water, and/or lower than normal water pressure. Crews will work as quickly as possible to shorten the length of these temporary inconveniences. For more information, contact Pennsylvania American Waterโ€™s customer service center at 1-800-565-7292,” officials said.
