Henry, a 38-year law enforcement official, was sworn in as chief during the spring of 2016.
“I’m so glad this council elected to hire him. He’s brought back a higher degree of professionalism with police,” Saxton said.
Saxton explained the two agreed that community policing was right fit for the borough.

Fitzpatrick said he appreciated Henry’s service in Bristol Borough and thanked him for working with him on key issues.
Henry thanked his fellow officers for their work, noting the borough’s high rate of solving crimes.

He pointed to the large Black Lives Matter march that happened in 2020 as an example of how Bristol Borough comes together. The town hosted a large rally without problems that allowed people to make their voices heard.
“It was really incredible to be part of that,” Henry said.
The chief acknowledged there can be in-fighting at times among council members, but they all work together when it matters.

“I have had a great experience with the borough,” the chief told LevittownNow.com in August.
“Policing has never been more difficult then it is today. Fortunately for the department and myself we have always received strong support from the people of Bristol Borough. I have felt it a privilege to serve in this position,” he added.

Before coming to Bristol Borough, Henry worked in the private sector for a short time. Prior to that, he worked for 31 years in the Tom’s River (New Jersey) Police Department, rising to the rank of captain. The department was much larger than Bristol Borough.
Henry took over after longtime Chief Arnold Porter retired after a nearly 40-year career.
