New COVID-19 infections continued dropping for the second week.
Last week, there were 895 new COVID-19 cases reported in Bucks County. It was a drop of about 15 percent from the week prior, according to Pennsylvania Department of Health data.

For context, the number of new COVID-19 cases for the same period last year was 465 new cases. At that time, there were strict mitigation measures in place and vaccines were not yet approved.
The COVID-19 test positivity rate in the county decreased to 6.5 percent last week. A test positivity rate higher than 5 percent means health experts consider the spread uncontrolled.
On Tuesday, there were 78 hospitalizations of people with COVID-19 in Bucks County. Among those 66 patients, 16 were in intensive care and four were on ventilators, according state data.

Data from state health officials reported five COVID-19 deaths were reported in Bucks County last week.
The number of fully vaccinated people in Bucks County rose over the rate from the week prior by 36 percent.

A total of 44,984 Bucks Countians were partially vaccinated and 344,248 were fully vaccinated at the start of this week, according to state data.
The number of third doses and booster shots administered continued to rise. Since they were approved in mid-August, a total of 28,129 additional doses were administered in Bucks County.
According to state data from September, nearly all people who died of COVID-19 or were hospitalized with the novel virus in recent months were not fully vaccinated.
