2 Hurt In 4-Vehicle Crash

Things could have been a lot worse in a four-vehicle crash along Route 1 in Middletown Township late Wednesday afternoon.

The wreck happened around 4 p.m. on Route 1 southbound in the area where the Oxford Valley Road on-ramp and the highway merge.

There were two people taken to St. Mary Medical Center with minor injuries, Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry said.

The chief said he was surprised but thankful there were not more serious injuries.

No one had to be extricated from any of the vehicles involved.

Traffic was backed up for more than a mile due to the wreck.

The Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company and Middletown Township Department of Fire and Emergency Management were on the scene with Middletown Township police and medics.
