A fast food joint that specializes in chicken fingers has the go-ahead to begin construction in Falls Township.
Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, which has most of its locations in the Midwest and southern states, was granted preliminary and final land development to rip down the closed Romano’s Macaroni Grill at the Court at Oxford Valley off Oxford Valley Road and construct a new 3,329-square-foot building with two drive-thru lanes that can handle 30 vehicles at a time.

The decision came at Monday evening’s Falls Township Board of Supervisors meeting.
The Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers location, which LevittownNow.com first broke news of in July, will feature indoor and outdoor seating. A 541-square-foot outdoor patio canopy will be constructed.
The company hopes to open as soon as spring 2022.

The new fast food place will employ more than 50 workers, said attorney Mike Meginniss, who is working for the developer.
“They are a very impressive organization,” Meginniss said of the fast food chain. “They pride themselves on being a local business, getting involved in the local community.”

Meginniss explained to the supervisors that Raising Cane’s is making a “significant investment” in the outdoor seating area.
With the location having mainly one item – chicken fingers – food preparation time is quicker than other fast food restaurants. It takes the average customer two-and-a-half minutes to place an order and pick up their food, according to Meginniss.
“I’m happy to get another restaurant in there,” Supervisor John Palmer said. “The site is perfectly suitable for this type of establishment.”

“All of us are happy to see that building get filled,” Supervisors Vice Chairman Jeff Boraski said. “It’s a really nice location.”
