Investigation Into Police Shooting Of 48-Year-Old Man Continuing

The investigation into the death of a man who was shot by Falls Township police at the end of last month continued this week.

Jorge “Cury” Alberto Perez, 48, of Falls Township’s Morrisville section, died after being shot during a domestic call On Sunday, August 29, according to sources.

Further details on the incident were not released by the district attorney’s office on Wednesday, but law enforcement sources said the probe continued.

The shooting occurred around noon Sunday in the 400 block of Federal Lane in the Penns Grant neighborhood. Perez appeared to have a knife, police sources said.

Falls Township police Chief Nelson Whitney confirmed at the time that there had been a fatal shooting by police during a domestic call.

Perez, according to his obituary, was married and had six children. He was raised in Brooklyn and had lived in Bucks County for 28 years.

“He did all he could for his family before his life was suddenly cut short … He was a wonderful husband, son, brother and best friend,” a description on a Go Fund Me read.

“He didn’t deserve what happened to him,” Mary Lambetsos, Perez’s sister-in-law, wrote in the fundraiser.

The fundraiser earned more than $9,100 to cover funeral expenses as of this week.

Perez’s family did not respond to requests for comment in time for publication.
