Bristol Borough will again be hosting their annual late-summer concert featuring luminaries of the rock, doo-wop, and soul scenes from the 1950s to the 1970s.
Bristol Borough Council’s big concert will take place at Riverside Park at the Mill Street Parking Lot on Saturday, September 18 starting at 5 p.m. and running until about 9 p.m. The concert is free and a rain date is set for Sunday, September 19.

The headliner for the concert is Bobby Wilson, who will deliver a musical tribute to his father, legendary soul singer and performer Jackie Wilson.
Concert organizers said Bobby Wilson carries on his father’s legacy. Bobby Wilson started his music career in Honolulu following an unexpected medical discharge from the U.S. Navy, which led to him singing at a local karaoke bar. Eventually, he came to the attention of Peter Hernandez Sr., the founder of the world-famous doo-wop group “The Love Notes” and father of Bruno Mars. From there, Bobby Wilson’s music career picked up and he has been nominated for a Grammy three times.
Groups The Tymes (“So Much In Love”); Eddie Holman (“Hey There Lonely Girl”); The Happenings (“See You in September”); Bill Haley’s Jr.’s. Comets (“Rock Around the Clock”); and Vic Picone and The Elegants (“Little Star”) will perform. Cover bands The Chiclettes and Joel Katz and The Dynamics will also take the stage.

“We first started these concerts 15 years ago as something for friends and families to look forward to at the end of the summer. It’s become the biggest single-day event in Bucks County,” said Bristol Borough Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe.
Those looking to attend the concert are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and sweaters.

Food trucks will be on hand during the concern.
Free parking and free bus service will be available from the Lenox parking lot at Radcliffe and Monroe streets starting at 3:30 p.m. and continuing until 11 p.m. on the day of the concert.
Organizers noted that the borough has several restaurants serving American, Italian, Indian, Chinese, and Mexican, and seafood dishes within walking distance of the concert.

The concert committee worked with DiGuiseppe and Bristol Borough Tax Collector Anna Larrisey to plan the event.
“They are a committee of strong personalities and they know what needs to happen and they get it done. They know how many amps are needed based on the equipment the acts are bringing in, and they make sure all the electrical equipment is in place to support the performers. A second crew works on shuttle buses, food trucks and handling all the needs of the guest performers. It all comes together very well for the performers and audience,” DiGuiseppe said.
