The incident that led to Wednesday’s standoff in Tullytown Borough’s Levittown section ended peacefully.

The man surrendered to police around 12:50 p.m. when he walked to officers in tactical gear outside his residence in the 200 block of Kenwood Drive South.
Tullytown Borough police Chief Daniel Doyle said officers were alerted around 10:15 a.m. that the man, a military veteran, was threatening suicide and had barricaded himself inside the home. Because it was believed he was armed, a SWAT team was requested.
The man was cooperative with police and was taken for a mental health evaluation, Doyle said.

No injuries were reported.
Social media rumors that spread quickly about hostages and people shot at the scene were untrue, Doyle said.

Residents in the area were asked to shelter in place during the standoff, and Kenwood Drive was closed. It reopened shortly after the standoff.

Officers appeared to have a man in custody outside of the house.

Tactical officers were calling for the man to surrender shortly before the man was seen in handcuffs around 12:50 p.m.
Kenwood Drive was closed in the area.
