Shots rang out after a Friday night football game between Pennsbury High School and Academy Park High School in Sharon Hill, Delaware County.
6abc, citing police sources, reported a 7-year-old girl was hit by the gunfire and died at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia with a wound to the neck.

NBC 10 said the shots were fired just before 9 p.m. as players were on the field following the conclusion of the game, which Pennsbury lost. The gunfire sent fans, coaches, and players from both schools running for cover.
Delaware County Times reporter Jack McCaffery was covering the game and observed the mayhem. The shooting took place just outside the stadium’s main gate, and he picked up seven shots while recording a post-game interview.
McCaffery wrote that Pennsbury players were ordered into the press box for safety, but they were then told to rush toward their team bus.

A WBCB 1490 recording of the high school football game picked up audio of what appears to be several gunshots.
