A mother and her child were hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle Saturday evening.

The crash happened on Route 13 in the area of 2nd Avenue in Bristol Borough around 8 p.m.
The mother and her 16-month-old child in a stroller were struck along the busy roadway, police said.
The striking vehicle was then rear-ended by another vehicle, police said.

The mother and child were rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia. The child was then transferred to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in the city, police said.
The mother and child were listed in critical condition as of late Saturday night, police said.

The two drivers stayed at the scene and were cooperating with investigators.
Bristol Borough police were assisted by the Bristol Township and Tullytown Borough police departments. Medics, firefighters, and Bristol Township Fire Police were also at the scene.
Due to the serious injuries, a county-wide crash investigation unit was called in to assist.
