Industrial Building Fire Caused By Truck

A fire that damaged an industrial building in Falls Township last Friday was caused by a truck.

The fire happened around 6:30 p.m. last Friday at the Britton Industries facility on MY Lane off of West Bridge Street. The Falls Township Fire Company posted that crews arrived to find fire coming through the roof and heavy flames inside the building.

It took a little more than an hour to put the fire under control.

No injuries were reported.

Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said his investigation found the blaze started with a truck in a bay. The flames then spread. The fire originated in the area of some wiring under the cab.

The building sustained “substantial damage,” Dippolito said.

The Falls Township, Fairless Hills, Edgely, Langhorne-Middletown, Levittown No. 1, Levittown No. 2, Morrisville, Penndel, Tullytown, and Yardley-Makefield fire companies responded.
