As part of the county’s efforts to make reentry to the community from prison easier, the Bucks County Reentry Coalition has launched a website.
The website – BucksCountyReentry.com – is designed to provide information, access, and resources for people reentering society after stints behind bars. It includes information on mental health, education and training, government programs, drug and alcohol information, health care, and victim services.

The website allows for feedback and questions to be asked, according to Michael Harrison, Bucks County Reentry Coalition chair and deputy chief of the Bucks County Adult Probation and Parole Department.
“We believe that good retry is providing everyone with the opportunity and access to resources to make people successful,” Harrison said.
The deputy chief of the probation and parole department said focusing on successful reentry helps cut down on crime, is better for the community, and saves taxpayer dollars if the person is not have to go through the public safety system.

The coalition is made up of more than 50 government, community, faith-based, educational, and employment agencies.
Bucks County Department of Corrections Director David Kratz, who co-chairs the coalition, said the prison is working to allow inmates to have access to the website from behind bars.

“Returning offenders to the community with resources and support has a positive effect on the communities, the prison system, and most importantly the offender,” Kratz said.
In recent years, county public safety agencies have worked with community groups to improve outcomes for people reentering society after =prison.
