A body believed to belong to a missing childcare worker was recovered Sunday afternoon.

Lower Southampton Township Police Chief Ted Krimmel said he was confident the body was Cassandra “Casey” Johnston, 26, 6abc said.
The body was found not far from where her badly-damaged car was discovered near Woodhaven and Townsend roads in Northeast Philadelphia.

The car that belongs to a missing childcare worker was located Saturday.
According to CBS 3 and NBC 10, the silver 2016 Ford Focus belonging to Cassandra “Casey” Johnston, 26, of Lower Southampton, was found off Woodhaven Road in Northeast Philadelphia on Saturday evening.

NBC 10 reporter Matt DeLucia said Sunday morning that the vehicle was in thick brush and police will return to look for clues.
As of Sunday morning, Johnston remained missing.
Police said Johnston was last seen in the area of Vine and Franklin streets in Philadelphia around 5:51 a.m. on Saturday, July 10.

She was last known to be wearing the clothes she was pictured in. She was driving her silver 2016 Ford Focus sedan with Pennsylvania registration.
Johnston’s vehicle was seen driving toward the ramps to I-95 in Philadelphia.

The family of the missing woman has hired a private investigator to assist them in their search. Police are still actively involved.
Johnston is a counselor and aide at a child care programs that serves the Neshaminy School District.
