Four Bucks County nonprofit organizations will split more than half-a-million dollars in state money to assist individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness.
A Woman’s Place, Family Service Association, Valley Youth House, and YWCA Bucks County will receive $512,761 through the Emergency Solutions Grant CARES Act, according to Gov. Tom Wolf’s office.

Statewide, close to $1.5 million in funding was announced to help people experiencing homelessness Tuesday.
“All Pennsylvanians need a safe place to live, and this critical funding will continue to help individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness to get back on their feet,” said Wolf. “Through trusted, community-based organizations, this program assists families facing homelessness through outreach, local emergency shelters, and rehousing assistance.”
The state received the funds through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act supplemental appropriation.

Last year, the county received nearly $1 million to assist the homeless population through the CARES Act.
