Bristol Township’s spray park remained closed Monday, but township officials said repairs were underway.

The popular public spray park that opened last summer and provided a welcomed reprieve for township families with young kids during the pandemic has been closed since Friday, July 9 due to problems with the system.

“The manufacturer and installer of the spray park are working diligently to make necessary repairs. As of Friday, they were still waiting on a few parts that have been difficult to source due to ongoing supply chain issues. We are eager to reopen the spray park and will do so as soon as it repaired and operating safely. Thank you for your patience,” the parks and recreation department said in a social media post.

Last week, Township Manager Randee Elton said in a statement that the issues were re-occurring and the spray park’s engineers and contractors have been consulted.

“This year we have been seeing more than 500+ kids a day at the spray park and unfortunately there are maintenance issues we are still learning and dealing with, mainly on the filter system and the recycling of the water,” Elton said.

“We want more than anything to be able to open the spray park without any issues, and additionally be able to expand the days and hours for all of our residents to utilize,” she added.
