A Falls Township man was arrested Monday morning on allegations he stole a running car.
Falls Township officers were called around 9 a.m. Monday to Dalton Way for a reported vehicle theft in progress. The vehicle was a 2016 gray Nissan Altima.

The vehicle owner told officers she arrived home from the store and went inside to drop off the items and say bye to her kids before heading to work. She said the Nissan was outside running when she heard it driving away.
The woman relayed to police that she saw a man who appeared to be in his 30s standing not far away from her home before the vehicle was stolen.
The woman’s iPhone 12 Pro Max was in the vehicle and showed the vehicle’s location as being along Old Bristol Pike, police said.

Falls Township officers were searching for the vehicle in the area of Old Bristol Pike when a Lower Makefield officer spotted the vehicle traveling south on Route 1 near North Oxford Valley Road, police said.
The stolen vehicle was stopped and Christopher Steven Hier, 31, of Falls Township’s Morrisville section, was detained, police said.

The owner of the vehicle said Hier was the man she spotted near her home just before the theft, police said.
Investigators stated Hier took about $7 from a wallet in the stolen vehicle.
The vehicle owner’s iPhone was recovered with a broken screen along Old Bristol Pike.

Hier was arraigned at 11 a.m. Monday by District Judge Jan Vislosky on charges of theft, receiving stolen property, and theft from a motor vehicle. He was transported to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $100,000 bail.
