A Tuesday night fire at a bread crumb bakery in Bristol Township was contained within about an hour.
The fire happened inside a large dryer for the food product at the American Bread Crumb Company facility in the 2600 block of Hartel Street around 10:15 p.m.

The call came into 9-1-1 as a fire alarm and was upgraded to a working fire with smoking pouring from the building two minutes later, Edgely Fire Company Chief Brian Cirard said.
Working with the company’s maintenance crews, firefighters were able to place the blaze under control by 11:10 p.m. The dryer, a large, complicated piece of equipment, had temperatures higher than 1,300 degrees during the fire, Cirard said.
The fire did not extend into the building, but there was a smoke condition due to the blaze, Cirard said.
