A 24-year-old man with a brand new motorcycle was identified as the victim in Monday’s Falls Township wreck.
Blake Anthony Sims, 24, of Marianna, Florida, was pronounced dead after the single-vehicle crash on Mill Creek Parkway between Poet Lane and Willow Drive in Levittown, police said.

Police Chief Nelson Whitney said a witness told officers Sims was traveling at an “extremely” high rate of speed leading up to the crash.
While riding on Mill Creek Parkway, Sims’ hat flew off.
“Sims looked back, presumably at his hat, and lost control of the motorcycle,” Whitney said.

Sims ended up on the roadway and was pronounced deceased about 600 feet from where his hat landed.
The motorcycle continued on a bit and smashed through the fence of a home on Willow Drive.

The motorcycle only had 11 miles on it, the chief said.
Social media accounts show Sims joined the U.S. Navy several years back.
