A column of thick black smoke was visible to some residents in the Levittown area around lunchtime Monday.

The smoke was coming from a house fire in the 200 block of West Palmer Street in Morrisville Borough. Firefighters rushed to the scene around noon to battle the flames.

A neighboring home and vehicle were reported to also have suffered damage, according to a West Palmer Street resident.

There was no immediate word on injuries, but the home that was ablaze was extensively damaged.

Firefighters from surrounding companies, including those in the Levittown area and New Jersey, were called to assist Morrisville Borough firefighters.
