Students at Pennsbury High School in Falls Township raised a total of $28,506.98 as part of mini-THON, a fundraiser led by Penn State to help families of children fighting cancer.
The students took part in six hours of outdoor games and activities last Saturday at the high school’s east campus while viewing video testimonialsย from families aided by the Four Diamonds Fund that receives support through mini-THON and the larger THON fundraising program.

Mini-THON normally takes place in February, but it was delayed until April due to the pandemic and so outdoor events could be held.
The group of 150 students at Pennsbury were led by captains Carissa VanVeen and Kendall Swirles, both seniors. The faculty advisor for the event was Meaghan Cappelloni, a Penn State alum who was part of THON while she was a student.
