A United Kingdom citizen who lives in Philadelphia was been charged in connection with a serious Saturday night crash that left six people injured, including four Neshaminy High School juniors.

Shane Brolly, who turns 24 Tuesday, was charged late Sunday afternoon with five counts each of aggravated assault and aggravated assault by vehicle, and other counts of recklessly endangering another person. On-call District Judge Daniel Finello set his bail at 10 percent of $10 million.
Emergency crews were called at 10:12 p.m. Saturday to the 300 block of Bridgetown Pike near Playwicki Farm in Northampton Township. The area is the border between Northampton Township and Lower Southampton Township.
Police said their preliminary investigation determined a 2013 GMC Sierra pickup truck traveling northbound on Bridgetown Pike struck a southbound vehicle by crossing the center line. A third vehicle was then involved in the wreck.

Brolly and a passenger were in the 2013 GMC Sierra, three adults were in a 2015 Nissan Murano, and the four Neshaminy High School students were in a 2019 Mazda CX5. Brolly, his passenger, and the four teens suffered serious injuries.
Court papers indicated that Brolly attempted to pass the Murano by crossing lanes in the area that is a no-passing zone. While attempting to pass the vehicle, Brolly’s pickup truck struck the CX5 with the teens inside. The force of the crash pushed the CX5 50 feet and caused it roll over.

The investigating officer wrote they “observed significant damage to all three vehicles involved in this crash, consistent with a high-speed impact.”
Brolly sustained injuries; his passenger had “serious internal injuries” that required emergency surgery; one of the teens suffered a broken arm, broken femur, and serious internal injuries requiring surgical repair; a second had life-threatening injuries; another had internal injuries; and the forth had internal injuries requiring surgical repair and trauma to her face and head, police said.
Responding crews, according to court papers, found unopened and open alcoholic beverage containers at the crash scene. Brolly was reported to have smelled of alcoholic beverage.

Brolly admitted to consuming alcoholic drinks throughout Saturday before he got behind the wheel.
The Bucks County District Attorney’s office said blood tests results for Brolly were pending.

By early Monday afternoon, a GoFundMe to help pay for care for the four injured teens had collected more than $50,000.

Four Neshaminy High School juniors were among six people hurt in a violent three-vehicle crash over the weekend.
The crash happened Saturday at 10:12 p.m. in the 300 block of Bridgetown Pike near Playwicki Farm on the Northampton Township and Lower Southampton Township border. The crash was being investigated by Northampton Township police.

Police said there were nine people involved and six of them injured, including four juveniles. One driver was flown to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia for their injuries.
According to a GoFundMe for the students and several families in the district who spoke to LevittownNow.com, the four juniors were badly hurt in the wreck.
“Their injuries are extensive and it will be a long road to recovery for each of them. They have undergone and still face several surgeries to help them overcome all of their injuries,” the fundraiser said.

As of Monday morning, the fundraiser had collected more than $38,000.

Northampton police were assisted at the scene by the Bryn Athyn Fire Company of Montgomery County, Central Bucks EMS, Lower Southampton police, Lower Southampton fire police, Northampton Township Fire Company, Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad, and Yardley-Makefield Emergency Unit.
