Driver Ejected In Crash On I-295

A driver was ejected from his pickup truck Friday evening on I-295 in Middletown Township.

The vehicle was reported to have lost control while on westbound I-295 near the Old Lincoln Highway/Maple Avenue overpass around 7:08 p.m. The pickup truck went across the median and rolled into the eastbound lanes.

Frank Farry, the Langhorne Middletown Fire Company chief, said the driver was ejected and suffered head injuries.

The Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad took the injured driver to the hospital.

The eastbound lanes of the highway were closed until just past 11:15 p.m.

The Langhorne-Middletown, Penndel, Newportville, and William Penn fire companies responded.

The Pennsylvania State Police were investigating the crash.
