According to Bucks County officials, the pace of getting vaccines in the arms of residents is increasing.
While hospitals, some medical offices, and long-term care centers are conducting their own COVID-19 vaccine efforts, the county’s program is among the largest and most visible locally.

Last week, more than 11,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines were administered, county data showed.
The county is supporting vaccination clinics run by AMI Expeditionary Healthcare at the Bucks County Community College campuses in Bristol Township, Newtown Township, and outside of Perkasie and at the former H&M store at the Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem Township.
The Neshaminy Mall vaccination clinic launched last week and was responsible for 4,883 first vaccine doses. The site consisted of 44 percent of the vaccinations in Bucks County.

As vaccine dose allocations are expected to increase, Bucks County plans to open mass vaccinations sites in Upper Bucks County and in Warwick Township.
The Bucks County Health Department received 15,000 Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna doses last week. It marked a decrease from 20,660 doses the prior week.

“Vaccination numbers are climbing steadily, though supply is coming a little slower than what was predicted,” Dr. David Damsker, director of the Bucks County Health Department, said in a statement. “Again, I encourage everyone to get whichever vaccine they can, as soon as they are eligible.”
The county remains in Phase 1A under the state’s vaccination plan.
As of Monday, 67,009 people had been fully vaccinated and 74,145 had been partially vaccinated in Bucks County.

Officials have said the vaccination numbers are an under count. The figures don’t include doses provided through federal partnerships or the Johnson & Johnson doses sent directly to the Bucks County Intermediate Unit for school staff.
Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration has committed to setting up two mass vaccination clinics for the four Philadelphia collar counties, including Bucks County. The plan is controversial and few details have been released, causing bipartisan outrage.

The Bucks County Health Department has more than 258,600 people on their COVID-19 vaccine waiting list. Those who wish to register can do so at the county website.
