Amazon Parking Facility Approved For ‘Eyesore’ Property Along Route 13

The former Window Wizards’ property along Route 13 in Bristol Township will become a parking lot to support Amazon’s neighboring logistics facility.

Bristol Township Council last month approved Montgomery County-based Goodman Properties’ plan to merge two parcels at 6200 Route 13 and construct a 574-space parking lot.

Christen Pionzio, an attorney from Hamburg, Rubin, Mullin, Maxwell & Lupin, told council members that the current owner of the site is in her 80s and wants to sell. The property she said has been neglected over the years.

The approved plan will clear the site of buildings and turn the property into the parking lot with landscaping, a gate, and guardhouse. The site will have Route 13 access and connect to the neighboring Amazon Delivery warehouse, Pionzio said.

The Bristol Township Amazon facility is one of three that have opened or are about to open in Lower Bucks County. The facilities are designed to handle last-mile deliveries to Amazon customers.

Bristol Township Council Vice President Cindy Murphy said the clean-up of the “eyesore” site is welcome.

The Bristol Township Planning Commission reviewed Amazon’s parking lot proposal and recommended approval to council.

Bristol Township officials have look to redevelop the 9.7-acre Window Wizards’ site over the years.

Amazon leases other parking lots in Falls Township and Middletown Township.

Sources told this news organization recently that the company is looking at additional properties to support delivery service.
