Bucks County Detectives are investigating a telephone scam.

In a statement, Bucks County Detectives, who are part of the district attorney’s office, said they are looking into a scam that involves a caller purporting to be from the Bucks County Clerk of Courts inquiring about personal finances.

“On the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 2, a Bucks County resident received a call she described as an automated ‘robocall’ where she was asked questions about getting out of debt and her ability to pay her monthly bills. The resident said her phone showed the number coming from the Bucks County Clerk of Courts,” investigators said in a statement.

The resident hung up and did not provide personal information, authorities said.

The clerk of courts office does not help residents with monthly debt.
