Falls Township has approved a contract to rid its largest park of pesky Canada geese.
At their meeting last week, the Falls Township Board of Supervisors unanimously approved awarding a year-long contract to Geese Police of Philadelphia at a rate of $1,400 per month for a total of $16,800 for the year. Previously, Falls Township worked with another company for a 10-month geese management effort, which in 2020 cost $22,000.

Lenny Torro, the owner of the Geese Police franchise for the area, said his team would hit Falls Township Community Park multiple times over the week. The firm will use border collies to chase geese away and also plans to use other mitigation techniques such as watercraft, noise, lasers, lights, and effigies.
“I don’t want to reduce the amount of geese,” he said. “I want to rid the property of them … my goal is to keep them from overnighting.”
Torro said preventing overnight stays by geese will help stop them from nesting.

Geese Police, according to Torro, plans to start efforts to mitigate the number of geese shortly. He said no geese will be captured by his team.
Since 2015, the township has stepped up efforts to limit the amount of geese at the popular park. The geese often caused problems for park users, including leaving droppings.

Falls Township Parks and Recreation Director Brian Andrews said the efforts over the years has reduced the amount of birds at the community park.
“It’s paid dividends at the community park,” Andrews said. “It’s really made the park a lot safer. We recommend doing this every year.”
Geese Police handles geese management at a Levittown-area business park, several homes in the New Hope area, will be starting at Jefferson Bucks Hospital in the township, and is proposing its services for a number of area municipalities and businesses.
