A Philadelphia man was arrested for entering a home occupied by a 14-year-old girl and then struggling with police.
Middletown Township police officers were called to the 200 block of South Hawthorne Avenue in the Langhorne section of the township around 8:20 p.m. Monday evening for a burglary-in-progress call. The teenage girl was reported to be alone inside the home when the man entered, according to court papers.

By the time officers arrived, the suspect was no longer in the home, police said.
A description of the suspect was put out on police radio.
Police said in a statement on social media that the 9-1-1 call was made by the homeowner, who was not there at the time, that they saw someone via a security system forcing entry in the home.

While officers were in the area, the suspect had entered and quickly left another occupied home in the 200 block of South Hawthorne Avenue, police said.
A perimeter was set up by officers and the suspect was spotted near West Old Lincoln Highway and South Hawthorne Avenue, police said.

The suspect – identified later as Will McDuffie, 22, of Philadelphia – resisted arrest and struggled with officers before being taken into custody by three officers, police said.
After McDuffie was arrested, police received a call that he may have broken into an occupied home in the 100 block nearby Butterworth Lane.
McDuffie was arraigned early Tuesday morning by on-call District Judge Mark Douple on three counts each of burglary, criminal trespassing, loitering and prowling at night, and a single count of resisting arrest. He was sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $250,000.
