Bristol Borough is reducing municipal taxes in 2021.
The council approved lowering taxes by 11.2 percent and the upcoming year’s $5.6 million spending plan at the December meeting.

Due to the recent sale of the Grundy Recreation Center for $4 million to Maryland-based Blackbear Sports Group, the borough will be able to lower taxes from 57.89 mills to 51.39 mills in 2021 because of the debut service reduction.
Borough Manager Jim Dillon said a property assessed at $16,000 will see a municipal tax bill reduction of $104.
The borough did increase the street lighting tax by 1 mill to 4.35 mills, which will bring in an additional $72,000. Dillion said the increase is the street lighting taxes first increase since 2006.

In addition, the park and recreation fund will see a .32 mill increase.
The capital budget calls for purchasing several vehicles to replace older ones, including $144,485 for a new street sweeper.

The waste collection fee will remain at $395 per household.
