The entire technology infrastructure project will cost $7.9 million. Outside of the grant, the balance of the cost will be funded by local sponsors of the community college that has campuses in Bristol Township, Newtown Township, and East Rockhill Township.

โ€œIn today and tomorrowโ€™s world, capital projects are not always bricks and mortar. This project will propel the digital transformation of Bucks, allowing us to serve Bucks Countians using new user-friendly and more secure technology systems,” Bucks County Community College President Dr. Stephanie Shanblatt said.

Democratic state representatives Tina Davis, of Bristol Township; John Galloway of Falls Township; and Perry Warren, of Newtown Borough, all celebrated the grant.

โ€œIn order to be competitive in todayโ€™s globalized world, Bucks County students must utilize cutting edge technology,โ€ Davis said. โ€œThis grant money isnโ€™t just an investment in BCCC, but in Bucks Countyโ€™s future. The more competitive our students are in the marketplace, the more prosperous Bucks County will be.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re as good as the tools youโ€™ve got,โ€ Galloway said. โ€œIn order to be at the forefront in todayโ€™s world, BCCC students need state of the art technology to connect with each other and the wider world. This funding will help make Bucks County and its students competitive on a global scale.โ€
