The Oxford Valley Mall was forced to close for some time Saturday evening, a peak shopping period during the holiday season after a year when retail was hit hard by COVID-19.
Firefighters were called to the Oxford Valley Mall around 4:30 p.m. for a smoke condition. The mall was reported to be busy with holiday shoppers at the time.

Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry said there was a power issue at the mall and also a generator on the roof was pushing out thick black smoke, which partly went into the mall. There was also a report of smoke inside nearby Lincoln Plaza.
The problem was believed to be caused by a power issues, Fire Marshal Jim McGuire said.
There were no injuries reported.

Along with the fire marshal’s office and Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, the Fairless Hills, Parkland, Penndel, and William Penn fire companies also responded.
