The Falls Township Board of Supervisors voted to ban parking on portions of two roads.

Last week, the supervisors agreed to ban parking on a portion of Woolston Drive and Makefield Road immediately adjacent to the Commons at Fallsington Apartments in the Morrisville section of the township.

In recent months, township police have put up temporary no parking signs as more and more complaints about vehicles parking along the roads have come in.

Previously, Acting Police Chief Nelson Whitney advised the supervisors that the department had received 20 complaints regarding a visibility problem for drivers heading from Makefield Road toward Woolston Drive due to the parking.

“It got to the point where there was going to be a tragedy,” Whitney stated.

Supervisors Chairman Jeff Dence said the ban on parking along sections of the roadway makes the solution more “legitimate now and permanent.”
