“The Board wishes Mr. Schwartz well and appreciates his five years of service to his Pennsbury constituents,” according to a statement.

Schwartz told LevittownNow.com his decision to resign wasn’t related to the various problems facing the school district but because he needs to focus more on his work and family life.

The departing school board member said he always gives his all to his responsibilities and that has become harder recently.

Schwartz’s term runs through November 2023.

Residents in school board Region 3 that are interested in applying can submit a resume and cover letter to district administrator Christopher Berdnik at cberdnik@pennsburysd.org by noon next Wednesday.
