The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) voted recently to allow member schools to “pursue alternate athletic schedules if the pandemic prohibited the resumption of regularly scheduled athletic seasons.”
On Thursday, the PIAA announced that student athletes from Academy Park, Cheltenham, Chester, Chichester, Harry S. Truman, Interboro, Norristown Area, Penn Wood, and Reading high schools will get the chance to play falls sports in spring 2021.
The PIAA called the plan an “alternate season for fall sports.”

All the schools have agreed to participate.
“We will continue to work with our respective administrations, school boards, local and county leadership to ensure that safety remains a top priority. Most of all, we look forward to seeing our student-athletes competing against each other, representing the great schools and communities which are represented in this agreement,” the PIAA said.
