After a slow start to fundraising, Democratic congressional candidate Christina Finello announced her largest fundraising haul in the third quarter.

In a statement on Tuesday, Finello’s campaign reported bringing in $925,000 in contributions between July 1 and September 30. The total amount of cash on hand was not released.

The Democratic campaign’s big quarter was reported hours after Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, who is running for a third term, reported bringing in more than $900,000 in the third quarter. For the final month of the campaign, Fitzpatrick’s team said it had $1.3 million cash on hand.

Both campaigns called their fundraising numbers record breaking for the district.

Fitzpatrick’s campaign boasted about their large haul hours before Finello and the congressmen debated in Bristol Township. During the debate, Finello’s campaign released a statement on their total number of funds raised.

Prior to the third quarter, Finello’s fundraising lagged behind Fitzpatrick and that was seen by many Democrats as a weakness for the former deputy director for the Bucks County Housing and Human Services.

At the end of the second quarter in June, Finello reported having $296,123.29 cash on hand and Fitzpatrick had $1,828,736.82 in the bank.
