A group of Pennsbury School District parents and students will gather to protest the lack of certainty over the return to some form of in-person classes on Friday.
The Reopen Pennsbury Schools rally is slated for 10 a.m. outside of the administrative offices on Yardley Avenue in Falls Township’s Fallsington section.

The district has committed to virtual learning until the end of January. At that point, a return to in-person classes will be evaluated.
At recent virtual school board meetings, hundreds of comments from parents with varying points of view over the issue have been submitted. Many comments asked for clarity from the school board and district on reopening.
“The board received over 100 comments for the last board meeting from brave parents begging to open the schools for their children who are struggling to focus, learn, and are regressing in behavior and developing depression and anxiety. The question of ‘what metrics must be met to reopen schools’ has never been answered,” rally organizer Diana Donnelly said.

In the week since a Facebook group for the movement launched, more than 1,000 people have joined, Donnelly said.
A similar event took place outside the high school in mid-August.
